Oh yes a few weeks ago at happy hour a gay man, who claimed he was drinking since noon that day, told me, "You seem like the kind of girl who gives blowjobs to the unemployed." That is one "compliment" I've never heard before - Ummm.. thanks? Is that a compliment? Did he mean homeless or someone down on their luck? Perhaps someone between jobs? Does it mean that I just love blowjobs?
He also kept saying things like "I like this bitch." I know Queen Latifah, Lil' Kim and Eve have tried to regain ownership of "bitch" as a term of empowerment, but it still makes me uncomfortable. I forget who said to tme but it's so true; gay men can get away so much shit straight men can't. If a straight man called me a bitch I would slap him silly! (No I wouldn't but I would mock him mercilessly)

That Latifah comment reminds me of one of the Vagina monologues. It was about reclaiming the C word (I'm usually the least PC person around). I found out later the person reading that monologue was Naomi Campbell.
And whoever it was that made that comment about gay guys absolutely right.
